Dress Code

Dress Code for Yoga Teacher Training

We strongly recommend wearing loose, breathable cotton clothing, allowing your skin—and especially the navel area—to breathe freely and remain comfortable throughout the extensive practice sessions.

For these reasons, we discourage wearing leggings, which are often made from synthetic fabrics treated with PFAS ("forever chemicals")—known to cause hormone disruption, thyroid dysfunction, and even certain cancers—and BPA, another endocrine-disrupting chemical linked to long-term health risks.

You may read more about the health hazards here, here and here

To maintain a respectful and comfortable learning environment, all students are requested to follow these dress guidelines throughout the course:

What To wear:

  • Wear clean, comfortable, and modest yoga attire that allows free movement.
  • Choose breathable fabrics suitable for daily yoga practice.
  • Tops should adequately cover the shoulders, chest, and waist during all postures.
  • Leggings, yoga pants, or comfortable loose-fitting trousers are recommended.
  • Avoid transparent, overly tight, or revealing clothing.
  • Remove shoes before entering the practice hall.
  • During meditation and philosophy sessions, wear comfortable clothing that reflects respect for the learning environment.

What to Avoid:

  • Jeans or restrictive clothing during practice.
  • Clothing with offensive or distracting graphics or slogans.
